01Fares
How is my fare worked out?
You see the price before you confirm. A fixed fare is worked out from the distance and expected time of the trip for the class of car you pick, and it doesn’t change in traffic. Where a metered fare is offered too, you can choose that instead and pay what the meter shows at drop-off, never less than the start price shown.
There is no surge pricing. Rain, match day, Hogmanay: same fare.
Does the driver really get the whole fare?
Yes. Let Rides takes no commission from any fare. Drivers pay a flat monthly package instead, so what you pay is what your driver earns. Tips added in the app go to the driver in full too, and your receipt shows “100% to your driver”.
How do I pay?
In the app, by card after the ride, in cash to the driver, or on your Ride Tab. If you book on the website with your phone number, you pay the driver in cash at the end. Card and Ride Tab payments need the app.
02Ride Tab
What is Ride Tab?
Rides go on your tab as you take them, and once a week you settle up with one Direct Debit. It costs £2 a month, has a weekly cap of £100 by default, and unlocks after 3 completed rides.
There’s no interest and no late fee, ever.
When is the Direct Debit collected?
Once a week, on Friday. The app tells you the amount and the date before each collection.
What happens if a Direct Debit fails?
Your tab pauses on its own, with no fee, until the balance is settled. You can still ride by card or cash in the meantime, and you can pause or close the tab yourself at any time from Payments in the app.
03Cancelling
Can I cancel a ride?
Yes, from the app, or from the website if you booked there. Before a driver accepts, cancelling is free. After a driver accepts you have a short grace period, then a cancellation fee applies.
The fee and the grace period are shown before you confirm the booking, and again before you cancel.
What if the driver cancels?
You pay nothing, and you can book again straight away. If a driver cancels on you repeatedly, email support@letrides.com and we’ll look into it.
04Following a trip
Can I book a ride for someone else?
Yes. When you book on the website, choose Someone else and enter their name and mobile number. They get a WhatsApp message when a driver accepts, with a link to follow the car, and the driver calls them rather than you. You can follow the trip and cancel it from your own booking.
How do I follow a trip I booked for someone else?
Every ride has a tracking link. Open your booking on the website, or the ride in the app, and you’ll see where the car is, the driver’s first name, the car and its plate. The person riding gets the same link by WhatsApp, and you can send it to anyone else who wants to follow along.
The link shows no prices and no phone numbers, and it stops updating when the trip ends.

I left something in the car
